Irrigation Systems

Pictured here is what is commonly referred to as a valve manifold. It is here where the controller is wired to. Water pressure is live for the duration of the growing season to this point of the system. In this picture there are 4 seperate HUNTER PLASTIC VALVES. The red wires that are on top are wired to the central controller. When the signal from the central controller is sent to the first valve it opens up allowing the first of four zones to be irrigated. The valve closes when the time on the central controller expires, allowing zone 2 to open and irrigate, and so and so forth.

"Pictured here is a backflow prevention device. This is a state code that requires anyone who intends to water their yard and shrubs with pottable water must have a certified master plumber install a backflow prevention device which will not allow fertilizers, and other potential lawn and ornamental materials to come in contact with your pottable water source. IE Drinking water source." Note: Any irrigation system quote given by Berkshire Gardens Turf Services does not include the cost of a plumber, and his/her rates and materials.
